Jody wanted to be a Rock and Roll singer at the age of 12 after listening to Paul Stanley's 1978 solo album. Some of Jody's other influence's include Joe Lynn Turner, Ozzy Osbourne, and Robert Plant. An artisit of many mediums, it's being on the stage that "does it" for Velletta, who said "I love being on stage, especially when people are singing along to our songs!"
